To kick things off right around here, we're going to have a little fiction contest. Not super excited yet? There's money involved!Yeah, I thought that might help. We're looking for the best short fiction stories (6000 words or less) you've got.

The Cost: $5 per short story. All money goes towards paying our authors. This is for the CONTEST ONLY. We will NEVER charge for regular submissions!

The Prize: The winner of the contest recieves ETERNAL FAME AND GLORY! Also, $150 and publication in the first issue of Basment stories.

How to Enter: First, you have to send $5 to our paypal account at basementstoriesmag@gmail.com. There's a donation button on the bottom of this page that you can use. Second, send an email with the subject line CONTEST:YOUR STORY TITLE. Attach your story as a .rtf, .doc, or .docx file.

The Deadline: All entries must be recieved by Midnight EST on June 1st, 2010. The winner will be announced by July 1st, 2010.
